The filmmakers adapted this book for one reason: to cash in on Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining. I emphasize Stanley Kubrick because his movie was NOT a proper adaption of Stephen King's "The Shining. The problem with that is the novel Doctor Sleep was a sequel to Stephen King's "The Shining" not the Kubrick film. This created a handful of continuity gaps that were very clumsily explained away. The amount of time they spent in this movie saying "Hey, remember THIS from the Kubrick movie? eh? was just nauseating, and told me they had zero faith in the book they were adapting so they had to keep referencing the Kubrick film.
Doctor Sleep was an okay novel, not great, and had a classically bad Stephen King ending. When you adapt a flawed novel that gives you the opportunity to smooth over some of the rough edges, correct some of the mistakes. Instead this film just doubled down on the major problems of the novel. Particularly the already bad ending.
Something that's common with Stephen King adaptations is the filmmakers saying "Well this is a Stephen King movie, so it must be a horror. I don't understand why people think that about King, if you read his books he's not really a horror writer. He has a few, sure, but his genre is Supernatural Thrillers. The need to turn this into a horror lead to some unnecessarily gruesome scenes, as well as erasing some of the lighter-hearted parts of the book. I have a feeling if it weren't for the explanation of the name "Doctor Sleep" they would have eliminated the hospital altogether.
It wasn't all bad. I feel like the nailed the casting of the members of The True Knot, and they all did what they could with their characters. On the other hand, they cast random people to play Wendy and Jack who looked nothing like Shelley Duvalle or Jack Nicolson and had them do impressions. That was just an awful idea. I don't know if they meant to CGI their faces and forgot or something, but what was left in the movie didn't work at all. The guy who played Dick Hallorann looked good though, he worked.

I know it's late to make a Halloween Specials, but here we are!
Okay, Slender Man was one of the most anticipated movie of 2018... I enjoyed playing the game and listening to these urban legends about him, but this movie was... EH. br> Just to know, this review is gonna be a funny review actually.
Slender Man is directed by Sylvain White, written by David Birke and starring Joey King, Julia Goldani Telles and Jaz Sinclair.
The story is about a group of girls summoning Slender Man and when he got summoned, one of them gets missing, and the others trying to run away from him... this is the whole story!
Now, that's what I call a horror-pranks film, it's full of unscary scenes, with Slender Man pranking these girls... or poor girls... how did you talk all these pranks from a man without a face?
First of all, let's count the dumb choices in this movie. br> 1. They summoned Slender Man from a website, by a link says "SUMMON HIM. I mean what kind of creatures can be summoned from a website?
2. To "summon him" you must watch a video and follow the instructions in the video, and when you're done, congratulation, Slender Man is summoned, go and have fun with him!
3. Slender Man is a good pranker! He made me laugh a lot with his pranks. What's dumber than making a pranker creature in a horror movie?
4. Oh, yeah, the cast was dumber than Slender Man.
5. Slender Man, please, grow up... stop playing with the trees, it's noisy!
6. The CGI of Slender Man was like a man with some toilet paper rolled around his face.
7. This message is for the developers of this "game" please, fix the glitch of the faces, and the horror-dreaming stuff.
8. One more thing, please, fix the performances too, cause they are bad!
9. The finale... LOL!
10. And now, the dumbest thing in the movie award goes to. The script! Congrats to the script, it was super-dumb!
WOW, this movie is terribly bad! As I said, it was one of the most anticipated movies of the whole year, but it disappointed me very very much! It easily became one of the worst movies of 2018 -if it's not the worst already-
One more thing, why Katie's father thinks that "people can not just disappear" Wake up, MR. There's something called kidnapping, didn't you hear about it?
I think you already know what I'm gonna give this terrible movie, don't you? Yup, it's definitely an F!

El distrito de Hatillo (conocido también como “los Hatillos”) se fundó en 1886 como un pequeño caserío a los lados de la parte más plana de la trocha que conectaba Alajuelita con San José. El lugar era parte de la finca “La Verbena”, unas de las tantas propiedades del legendario Florentino Castro Soto , el cual era un gran cafetal que poco a poco fue siendo vendido y reduciendo su tamaño hasta quedar solo una pequeña franja en el camino que conecta a Alajuelita con Escazú, conocido cuando yo era pequeño como “la calle de los pinos”.

En la década de los cincuenta, el INVU decidió crear una “ciudad satélite”, imitando según ellos el modelo inglés del “satellite town”, aunque a mi parecer Hatillo no tiene casi nada de satélite y sí mucho de “ciudad dormitorio”. Se creó así la ciudadela de Hatillo 1, y luego en los sesentas lo siguieron los Hatillos del 2 al 5 y por último a principio de los 70’s
